A unique
negotiation
workshop
Deal Maker™ is an advanced negotiation workshop that combines face-to-face negotiations with sophisticated information technology to create a highly realistic, intense and time-effective learning experience.
Negotiate with greater confidence and superior tactical finesse

The workshop is designed to provide three fundamental inputs to become a more effective negotiator:

  • A clear analysis of the “mechanics” of negotiation
  • Hands on practice in a realistic environment
  • 360° feedback, which will help you discover your real strengths… as well as some of your “bad habits”
A sophisticated platform
Deal Maker™ enables you to negotiate deals that are embedded in an evolving business relationship.
Deal Maker™ does not simulate negotiations. You will engage in a broad range of face-to-face negotiations with other participants – not with a computer. A state-of-the-art IT platform will evaluate your deals and track their impact on all aspects of an evolving business relationship and, consequently, on the situation that you will face in later negotiations. So, as in real life, you will effectively write the script of your future business relationships.
Whereas the consequences of negotiations may take years to unfold in real life, Deal Maker ™ allows you to gain invaluable experience in just a few, but very intensive, days.
Distinctive features

Evolving business relationships

Your negotiations in Deal Maker™ are embedded in an evolving business relationship. Thus, your situation will change as a consequence of the deals that you negotiate, the decisions that you and your counterpart take unilaterally, as well as external factors. At any moment in time, the market, your options, the information that is available to you, the constraints that you are facing – in fact, your entire environment – will depend on what happened before. The simulation tracks the dynamics of this evolving relationship over time. Thus, as in real life, you and your counterpart will shape your own future.

Neginfo™

Negotiations are information driven. A key feature of Deal Maker™ is that you may search for additional information using a special tool called Neginfo™. And of course, you may learn a great deal from your counterparts as well.

Creative Deals

Deal Maker™ challenges you to become a more creative negotiator. You may “invent” variables, set your own agenda and explore creative ways to structure a deal. You are not simply selecting options from a pre-formatted agenda.

Interpersonal Dynamics

Your negotiating experience will be both exciting and highly realistic. As in real life, your objectives, your perceptions and your emotions will be affected by the interpersonal dynamics within an ongoing business relationship.

360º Feedback

Throughout your learning experience, Deal Maker™ provides reliable feedback. Negotiation experts offer informal tips while you are preparing for negotiation. After closing a deal, the computer provides prompt and detailed feedback about your outcome. This is complemented by an in-depth analysis of key conceptual issues during the debriefing sessions. And towards the conclusion of the workshop you receive comprehensive “360-degree” process feedback based on observations from fellow participants.

Personal Growth

You will discover some of your real strengths as well as, perhaps, some of your “bad habits”. You will learn to play the negotiating game with greater confidence and superior tactical finesse, and experience that negotiating is not only challenging but can also be great fun.
